Layer3 Smart Wallet Offboarding Guide

Layer3 is sunsetting smart wallets effective March 24, 2026 at 5:00 PM GMT+1. This guide walks you through transferring your remaining tokens to any wallet you control.

⚠️ Important: Never share your seed phrase with anyone.

Withdraw Workflow

Export EOA controller → Import to Rabby/MetaMask → Connect on Withdraw tool → Select Smart Wallet → Withdraw

Understanding EOA vs Smart Wallet

Your Layer3 Smart Wallet is a smart contract deployed on-chain.

It's controlled by an EOA (Externally Owned Account), a standard wallet derived from your seed phrase.

Think of the EOA as the "key" and the Smart Wallet as the "vault."

When you export your seed phrase, you're exporting the key that has permission to move funds out of the vault.

That's why you need to import this seed phrase into MetaMask/Rabby first, it gives you the signing authority to withdraw from your Smart Wallet.

Step 1: Go to Wallet Export Navigate to layer3.xyz and click "Export" in the right sidebar, or go directly to the Wallet Export page (https://app.layer3.xyz/wallet/settings/seed-phrase).

Step 2: View Your Wallet Addresses You'll see your EVM EOA Deployer Address.

Step 3: Export Your Seed Phrase Click "View Wallet Seed Phrase" to reveal your recovery phrase. Write it down on paper and store it securely offline.
